Cowboy Christmas was created for the Alternative Wreathes invitational show at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in Newport News, VA. The photo printed on leather is of my father when he was a young child, wearing a cowboy hat and boots.

This was inspired by the flooding in TN in 2010. Each object represents something lost in the flood: a cell phone represents communication, a key represents the homes and businesses, a fish skeleton charm represents the loss of wildlife. The parts are embedded in clear resin (for water) and covered with clay-mache for the toxic mud that coated everything when the water receded.
